| ABOUT US & LINKS Click Here for LINKS Nodine’s Smokehouse Inc. was started back in 1969 as a small custom smokehouse in Goshen, Connecticut. While under federal inspection , we were able to develop a wholesale market in New York city. Nodine’s is now featured in some of New York’s finest establishments, such as Citarella, Dean and Deluca and Fairway Markets. Over the many years of hard work and dedication, this small family business outgrew the small processing plant located at the farm in Goshen. In 1989, the company moved to a remodeled and modernized 20,000 square foot facility, 7 miles away in Torrington on 65 Fowler Ave. |
In February 2008 we launched the new and improved website, which included a new Fund-raising program that gives 25% of the purchase money back to the Fund-raiser without raising the price of the products. This highly anticipated program is coming along very well and keeps with Nodine's belief in American Products used in Fund-raising for American schools, churches, clubs and organizations. Supporters of the Fund-raisers only have to go online and pick their Fund-raiser from the list in the Fund-raiser Glossary and 25% of the money spent on purchases will go to the Fund-raiser that they have chosen. The gourmet retail store is still located in Goshen behind the house at 39 North street, in what was once a diary barn, that we moved and remodeled. The gourmet retail store carries almost all the Nodine’s product line, in addition to many gourmet specialty items; from soup fixings to already prepared soups and sandwiches. A unique taste experience is waiting to be had by all visitors. At the new production and shipping facility, while using the finest U.S.D.A. inspected ingredients, we feel we have been able to capture the Old World Gourmet quality and flavor thats missing in most high volume facilities, while consistently maintaining high production. Nodine’s wholesale distributes some of the finest smoked meats, poultry, fish, and cheeses throughout the United States using the quickest and most efficient means available to us to expedite orders to our wholesale customers. The Retail website and mail order catalog aspect has grown as well. Private labeling, along with the Fund-raisers, corporate gift packages, and drop shipping of catalog orders have become a growing portion of our business. On the new retail website, we have designed it to be very easy on the eyes and we have tried to make it infomative and very easy to browse and place your order by catagory, all of our products are listed and have brief concise descriptions and commentary. Most of our products have photographs, and those products that don't have photographs will eventually get them. We have also tried to answer most commonly asked questions and best explain the shipping methods available for our products in the FAQs and Ship Info sections of the website. Ronald and Johanne, along with their son Calvin, have assembled a fine team of employees, both in the processing and shipping facility in Torrington and the Gourmet Retail store in Goshen, to assist in taking the Nodine’s into the 21st century. We would be honored to serve you with our high quality gourmet smoked food products. |

LINKS Listed below are links to Restaurants, Markets, Country Clubs, Caterers and Inns that use and carry Nodine's products. We will try and get a recipe and post it with their link. I was going to number the links but then decided not to. I didn't want people to think that this was a grade scale, and the numbers would indicate how bad or good the places we link to are. These Links are posted to satisfy the questions as to who buys our products wholesale and what they do with them. Whether their creating a gourmet dish with our products or selling them in the deli case, we just wanted to show were our products can be found other than here. Browse responsibly, Nodine's is not responsible for the content, pictures or links used by Restaurants, Markets, Country Clubs and Inns on their web-sites (Caution: Some pictures and descriptions may cause intense hunger pains.). Here from our very own Litchfield County in the town of Litchfield is one of the top restaurants, a real jewel in the foothills, "The Litchfield Saltwater Grille". We are proud to say they order Nodine's Diced Apple Smoked Bacon for some of their recipes, one of those recipes happens to be their great Connecticut Clam Chowder. Chef Albert Clugston lll is a culinary master in the kitchen and his wife Sommelier, Brett Clugston knows all the ins and outs about wine, a well matched couple to run a restaurant. They have even been featured on one of the local television stations. Each one of them with their own segment, one about a wonderful dish "Leaf Peeper's Orchetta" prepared by Chef Albert and Sommelier Brett has two segments, one about "Best Value Wines 2009" and the other about "Holiday Wine". A few of the sales staff and the Nodine's themselves have dined at "The Litchfield Saltwater Grille" on more then one occasion, and all reported great food, good wine and good local entertainment in the Bar Lounge. Sommelier Brett has promised to send a recipe that uses Nodine's product soon, it will be posted below their link. Here is the link to - The Litchfield Saltwater Grille Website. Remember when you stop in to eat, tell them Nodine's sent you. Hail and well met Ridgfield Connecticut! Over on 720 Branchville Rd. is a wonderful local market that is rich in history, Ancona's Market, with a rich tradition of customer service and focus handed down from their Grandfathers. Ancona's Market has recently started carrying some of the Nodine's Smokehouse products and we are proud they chose us. We have provided a link to their web-site as a gesture of respect and cooperation - Here is the link to - Ancona's Market - Est. 1920 If there are any of Nodine's products you would like to see them carry talk to the store manager. Thank You and keep up the wonderful long tradition you have Ancona's. When you stop in, tell them Nodine's sent you. Right here in Torrington Ct. is a wonderful MiddleEastern treasure, Noujaim's Specialty Foods, which has both packaged-goods, counter-style takeout and catering. Noujaim's has several catering menu's and they purchase some of Nodine's Smoked Meats for some of their dishes. I met George Noujaim the other day, a very pleasant gentleman, and a very hands on owner. I wanted to shake his hand but he was in the middle of making some gourmet baked dish, with his hands covered in flour and dough, I didn't mind, I understood sometimes the owner has to do things themselves. It was still a pleasure meeting him. I lingered for awhile looking at all the mouth watering Eastern Mediterranean delicacies in the glass case thinking back to the time I was invited to a Lebanese picnic, with all the delicious foods and wonderful music. Aah bliss. So the next time you want some good Middle Eastern food or an event catered, Check out Noujaim's Specialty Foods. Here is a link to their website - Noujaim's Specialty Foods. Tell them Nodine's sent you. Up in the Northwest corner of Connecticut in the town of East Cannaan in Farm country is Freund's Farm, home of the famous "Cowpots, the pots you plant" and Freunds Farm Market. Here the country air a cityslicker might find offensive, most country folks find sweet and invigorating. Freunds Farm Market is a great ride in the countryside and they carry some of Nodine's Smokehouse Products, along with a many other delicious treats and products from seasonal Vegetables, Plants, Flowers to the wonderful baked products they carry and many more fine things . Freund's Farm Market also does catering for any party's you might need some great food for. Here is a link to their website - Freund's Farm Market. Check it out before you make a trip. Then stop in and browse for a while. Say Hi to the owner Theresa Freund, and tell them Nodine's Smokehouse sent you. If you live over in or around Whitman Mass. here's a place you definitely need to stop in and shop? Peaceful Meadows Ice Cream and Dairy Store. This place has been here for awhile, from what I have read, since 1920 and I also heard that their Ice Cream cannot be beat. Okay I saw one minor complaint while surfing the web and reading reviews, "The Ice Cream melts to fast". Gimme a break, if thats the only thing wrong with Peaceful Meadows Ice Cream? Thats real nit pickin! Hey they carry Nodine's Bacons and Smoked Cheeses and that makes them shine in our eyes! Seriously folks, I read hundreds of positive reviews about Peaceful Meadows Ice Cream and Dairy Store and even though I haven't had their ice cream, I have a friend who has, and she said "The next time you go out that way, make it a point to stop in and have some of their ice cream, it's the best, very creamy". Here at Nodine's we love all the recipes they list using Nodine's Products. I especially like the "Pasta Carbonara" recipe, check it out. Here is a link to their website - Peaceful Meadows Ice Cream. Tell them Nodine's sent you. Recently I was asked" You say that Nodine's sells a lot of their product in New York City, How come I don't see any New York City Restaurant's or Market's"? Well it's like this, we send our web-link permission slips out to a lot of places and it takes awhile to get back to us. When a place gets back to us, its usually like a holiday around here, because everyone wants to know "Who sent a permission slip back and what do they order? and What is the final dish they make with our products?" Some of the staff here get a little giddy when a web-link permission slip comes in. Without further wait here is the first of many hopefully from New York City! WATERFRONT ALEHOUSE, they have two locations, one in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn. The Logotype they have is humorous, "Waterfront Alehouse, Home of Warm beer, Lousy Food, Ugly Owner, Enjoy & Relax". We know for a fact that there food is not lousy, and thats because some of their food starts with great Nodine's Products (One of our sale staff drooled all over the menu, some of the dishes sound pretty delicious.). The word we have is the Owner is nice and quite handsome according to some ladies. Bottom line, from what we have heard, especially about the Manhattan location is Waterfront Alehouse is the place to relax and have a good meal and a good beer or two (I hear the Beer and Ale list is quite impressive with a large number of selections. You can't count them all on your fingers, you have to take off you shoes and socks and count on your toes too). So check out their web-site and then check out one of their locations and don't hesitate to give us feedback. Here is the Link to their web-site - WATERFRONT ALEHOUSE Tell them Nodine's sent you! Keep checking back often to see who we sign up next.
